Shangri-La Energy Limited (SEL) is the investment vehicle that a group of prominent Nepalese business houses have incorporated to make investments in Nepal's largest industrial potential, hydropower. It was incorporated in the year 2002 with an authorized capital of Rs. 1,000,000,000.00.
SEL has a 69% shareholding in Butwal Power Company (BPC) which operates 2 hydropower plants and distribution operations in Nepal. BPC has investments in other hydropower and hydropower related companies.
SEL is formed of six indigenous, successful and highly reputed Nepali business houses. These groups are already involved in manufacturing industries, information technology, service industries, trade, insurance and finance industries. |
